The 3 types of shortboards I've designed are to cover all aspects of wave conditions. The Vette is my everyday Shortboard to cover a wide range of surf (think waves like Lowers or the Hook). The Raptor is designed for Good Conditions and good surfers and is a great choice for traveling to surf trip destination waves. The KR1 is my most performance type of board designed for Hawaii waves this design needs a lot of power. If Performance is all you care about, Standard shortboards are the boards for you. There's a reason the Surfers on the WSL ride standard pointy nosed surfboards. It's because performance is king! I personally only ride these boards if the waves are pumping and or I'm going on a trip! The thing with Standard Shortboards is they give you the ultimate amount of performance (control) on a wave but the Problem is you need to be very Athletic and/or Experienced to ride them. So for beginners to intermediate surfers I don't recommend these boards. With these boards you are Sacrificing paddle power for total control.
